  • Excerpt from Martin Service: 'Martin Hints, Tips and FAQ's 23-5-1997 For the last several months, Martin Professional has been applying Loctite thread lock to all machine screws (this does not include self-tapping or sheet metal screws) to lessen the problems due to the loosening of screws under transport and with time.
  • Good evening folks. I've been given the use of two Martin Mac 250 Entours for a couple of weeks in return for cleaning and servicing them. They've been sitting in a corner of a night club for two years with exploded bulbs inside of them, and probably also need lubricated (one of the shutters used to stick when I worked with them four years ago).
  • The MAC 250 is fully supported by the Martin 3032 controller with version 2.05 or higher software. The MAC 250 may be set up on the 3032 as a MAC 250: gobo indexing, however, is not supported. To respond to the 3032, Martin mode must be selected or automatic protocol detection must be enabled as described on page 10.

I just took my entire rig down for a deep clean (6 250 washes, 6 250 Krypton and 4 250 Entour) all went smoothly (which is rare) and apart from the fact that the smoke fluid I use is clearly causing massive build ups of dust, the rig located and ran as fine.

Matricom g-pad ex manual mac pro. Good evening folks. I've been given the use of two Martin Mac 250 Entours for a couple of weeks in return for cleaning and servicing them. My questions:

Mac 250 Wash Manual

  1. Any tips for this task? I've found the service manual for them, but any wisdom borne of experience would be appreciated. One thing I'm concerned about: the owner's manual calls for a teflon-based lube, while the service manual calls for a silicone lube. What's up with that?

  2. I don't have anything to control them with. Any recommendations for software/controllers that will work with an iPad? I'm looking at Luminair, but I can't get a good sense of whether it will work with the Mac 250s, or what kind of DMX interface I need to be able to go from wifi to DMX. (All the Art-Net interfaces I've looked at are expensive as hell, and Ethernet only).

Thanks in advance!

One of our 250 Kryptons has a 'PAER'. It can't seem to find where it is pan-wise and makes quite a loud grating sound when panning. A colleague said it was probably a dirty opto sensor but I've cleaned that thoroughly to no effect. When I'm adjusting the pan manually from the unit itself, on each increment it heads one way and looks as if it's being pulled back. There's no continuity with the direction it moves when I increase the pan value I.e. when going from 145 - 146 - 148 - 149 it won't move four clicks in one direction but instead appears to move randomly. Does this suggest the problem is electronic rather than mechanical? Anyone?

The red 'P1' LED is flashing on the PCB also. Expect this is normal if there's a pan error?
